"Heather has been commuting to work by bicycle since selling her car back in August. Dan has been commuting to work by bicycle as well since selling his car over a year ago. Riding bicycles is more than just for exercise for the both of us, it is also a personal commitment to never own an automobile again! In fact, bicycles have infiltrated every aspect of our lives, one of Dan's jobs is as a bicycle courier for Metro Pedal Power delivering organic fruits and vegetables from local farms to residents and business all over Somerville, Cambridge, Charlestown and Boston as well as delivering books for Harvard Bookstore, and Taza chocolates all by bicycle. And if that is not enough, he is a member of the Boston Chapter vegan cycling team sponsored by OrganicAthlete, a nonprofit promoting healthy and environmental conscious lifestyles. Dan's new bicycle using used parts and a frame over twenty years old has generator lights powered by pedaling, no batteries for him!

Even before we knew about the Green Wedding Giveaway, we already wanted our wedding to be green and feel it is very important to be so. Coincidently, the Hippie Chick Bakery is whom we wanted to make our vegan wedding cake. Dan has told Heather the most important aspect of their wedding is he wants a tandem bicycle instead of a limousine! Having a wedding that is eco-friendly is important to us as a reflection of our lifestyle and a direct message to our guests."
